However, we are very sad to say that drivers in Romania are careless, to say the least. Even if there were motorways (which are reportedly under construction by the way), we’d still choose the laid-back national roads so as to enjoy the beauty of the Romanian countryside. Most of the time we drove on two-lane (or partially four-lane) national roads. There are very few motorways in this area. We mainly drove within the Transylvania region during our Romania road trip.
